Who killed Eom Tae-seong in The Trunk?

Eom Tae-seong was killed by Yun Ji-oh in The Trunk.

Tae-seong’s murder is at the crux of the series, kickstarting the show in the first place. The first episode of the show featured the police discovering a mysterious trunk that ended up containing Tae-seong’s dead body. He was an ex-employee of NM (New Marriage) and used to stalk In-ji ruthlessly. She had tried to kill him once when they were at the lake, but he ended up surviving. The person who finally kills him is Yun Ji-oh.

Ji-oh attacked Tae-seong in the lake, and a struggle ensued. He finally managed to stab Tae-seong and kill him. It is revealed that it was Lee Seon, the CEO of NM, who had asked Ji-oh to kill Tae-seong, as he was becoming a menace to the firm. Tae-seong wanted to keep In-ji by his side. He thus wanted to expose the company she worked for so that she wouldn’t be needed at work anymore. However, he failed to execute his sinister plans when Ji-oh killed and dumped his body in the water with the trunk that contained sensitive evidence of the company’s existence. Thus, the series ended with the trunk back in In-ji’s possession, with the company safe from the threat of exposure.
